How Can I Immigrate from Mexico to the U.S.?
Mexicans can live in the United States by obtaining an immigrant visa. Close family members, a fiancé, adopted children of citizens, and family members may be admitted because of their familial status. In addition, people immigrate from Mexico to seek safety in the United States, for religious and skilled work, and as returning residents.

How to Immigrate from Mexico to the United States
There are many ways that people come to the United States from Mexico. Here are common reasons and ways that people immigrate:
Family-based and marriage immigration
Close relatives of U.S. citizens and permanent residents may join their family members in the United States. Immediate relative visas are unlimited – anyone who meets the qualifications may come. In addition, other relatives may qualify for family preference visas.
As your lawyer, we can work through the application process quickly, making sure that there are no delays in your case and help spot and solve any inadmissibility issues.
Renewing or adjusting your status
Conditional permanent resident status is good for two years, after which you must apply to remove the condition to obtain the ten year green card. Most permanent resident status authorizations must be renewed every ten years. You may need to renew your status or adjust it.
We can examine the options and determine how best to proceed in your case. We also handle Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) renewals and advance parole based on DACA, which could open options for a pathway to residency.
Asylum
Asylum requests for Mexicans who are seeking safety in the United States based on protected grounds are granted in limited numbers, but they do happen. Let us explain how a person qualifies and how to build your case.
Returning resident
If you were previously a lawful permanent resident but have been absent from the United States for one year or more without a re-entry permit or beyond the term of your re-entry permit, you may qualify for an SB-1 visa (returning resident visa). We can evaluate your situation and take care of the steps to prepare for your return to the United States.
Fiancé visa
A fiancé visa allows you to enter the United States temporarily to marry a U.S. citizen. A K-1 visa allows the fiancé to enter to marry a U.S. citizen within 90 days. Then, the foreign citizen may apply for lawful permanent residency. The children of the fiancé may also come to the United States using K-2 visas.
Citizenship
If U.S. citizenship is your goal, the most common way to achieve naturalization is with five or more years as a lawful permanent resident. We can explain eligibility requirements and how our legal services may assist you on your journey.
